Xiaomi to Rebuild Automobile Safety Advisory Committee, Establish Public Communication Mechanism

Xiaomi Automobile recently announced plans to rebuild its Safety Advisory Committee in the coming year, inviting vehicle safety experts from universities and research institutions nationwide, as well as specialists who have participated in national accident investigations, to evaluate and safeguard vehicle safety from multiple perspectives. The news was revealed during a live stream on February 27 at the Xiaomi Automobile Factory, featuring founder Lei Jun and several safety experts.

Additionally, Xiaomi Automobile aims to establish a public safety communication mechanism, facilitating regular discussions with car owners, media, and experts to provide insights for vehicle safety. The first session is expected to take place in the first half of this year. During the live stream, Lei Jun emphasized that assisted driving cannot replace human driving, urging owners to stay focused and take control when necessary.

The live stream also revealed that Xiaomi Automobile deliveries exceeded 600,000 units before the Spring Festival. During the holiday, the total mileage of Xiaomi vehicles surpassed 400 million kilometers, with assisted driving accounting for over 100 million kilometers. The new Xiaomi SU7 has undergone multiple safety upgrades, including the application of 2,200 MPa ultra-strong steel, nine airbags across all models, anti-ballistic coating on the battery pack bottom, and standard LiDAR for enhanced safety redundancy.
